is it really the weekend?

Well I guess it must be as I have only worked 6 hours today and the same yesterday instead of the usual 8+ Just somehow doesn;t feel like it - but needs must and I need the money. Shame to miss 2 great MINI runs this weekend but thats life I guess - somethings are more important.

On a much more mundane level the garden is springing back to life at an alarming pace - so are the weeds  The common Clematis (common as in variety you understand ;) ) that my neighbour has planted on our joining fence is a mass of flowers - and I mean a mass! Well I suppose it’s only right to illustrate this - so here you go!

Other things going well are a god forsaken Lilac tree - that came over from the other neighbours garden - he has long since got rid of his and I planned to get rid of mine and is still on the to do list for this autumn. It’s not that I don’t like the thing - just that it’s so invasive and has roots and runners going everywhere. It is starting to stop other plants that I actually want from thriving, so it has to go. It looks good at the moment though.

The redder looking flower is on a species of grass that is growing in my pots on the patio - not stunning flowers but I quite liked the pic.

My seeds are also coming on well - and thought I would show you what I call my “hot pokers” as I cant remember the real Latin name. Now they don’t look much at the moment but I will post pictures of them in full bloom around July and hopefully it will be obvious why I like them so much.

Well thats the end of my Percy Thrower session, but I am sure there will be more ;)

still here importing i-tunes

still going - done 24 of which at least half were double CD’s - so getting there slowly. But even when this batch is done I am sure I can find another 30+ that I could add. Just don’t know if I can be bothered.

Cant decide what to do this weekend yet - I’m working both mornings till 12 but it’s whether I try and catch up the Welsh run on Sunday or just take it easy. decisions decisions hey.

My I-pod entry got me thinking

So I ended up going through my many draws of CD’s and decided to add a load more tracks I rejected first time round. It takes hours to import all your CD’s so did the basics overa week period when I first got the i-pod.

Now I guess it’s time to go into more depth. Even if it does include loads of naff 60’s 70’s and 80’s cheese  Got some good rock too ;) As it happens I am currently listening to Fergal Sharkey - a good heart - after importing it  ho and indeed hum!

Podcasts

just updated my podcasts and heard that White Roof Radio are the officiail podcast for MINI united - so the 3 guys from the US are heading to Europe in June. Question is can I really afford to go - realistically no - unless I get a shed load of OT between now and then.

So, on the subject of podcasts who gets what? would be lost at work sometimes without my podcasts to listen too. Unfortunatly I’m not in an office so can’t sit surfing the net all day. Podcasts are great as I catch up on all the radio I miss because of working shifts and have found a few imformative ones too - like WRR ;)

On the subject of i-pods cant decide when to change mine. It’s not that old - although very, very well used. In fact I bought it exactly 2 weeks before they launched the video ipods for exactly thje same price :( This always happens to me! Bought a Tom Tom one last August and by Christmas they had a newer version out which included Eurpopen maps for the same price. So agaijn I had to shell out more to get my map of France and major Europen routes on top.

We need a thread on MINI2 - Don’t buy this yet as a new version is being launched ……

Might start that as I am really bad at keeping up to date with whats coming out. Anyway back to the i-pod - do i change now for a video? which I cant really see the point in, do I wait for the I-phone?  but this has no 3G etc so might be a step back - or do Apple have yet something else up their sleeve.

I think I’ll wait a bit ;)

wooo hooo

It looks like I’m getting there ;)

Glad all the smilies on here are the php style with all the same codes as the Severns forum.

Now I just have to start thinking of what to write in this thing. Had a lazy day today. Got up about 7am and did a bit of surfing. Then washed the car - 1st time since the French weekender. It was in dire need of a wash! While I was there I had a call from Autgoglass to come and mend my top trim from the windscreen.

There was a funny noise coming from the top of the screen as I went on the M5 last night on the way to the pub meet. When I got there he top plastic trim was hanging on - just  I rang them and they said it wasn’t an emergency call out so just to press it back in and they would repair today. Luckily this worked and it is now bonded properly in place!

since then I have kept out of the sun - except for cutting the grass and watering my seeds twice. Glad to say they are starting to come up 8) Watched the GP which ws grea to see Lewis doing so well but not exactly the most exciting of races. Then wached last nights doctor who - thank heavens for sky+ ;)

Then I thought I had better have a play and see what I could do with this site. I’m not exactly computer illiterate, what with the Severns site and city and guilds and ECDL under my belt but this place just seems so hard to navigate! Bookmarked it all now so that should be the end of the problem.

Off to walk the dogs soon so will sign off now :)

I really need help

how on earth do you really get anywhere in here? Taken me 20 minues to find the dashboard  Think it will be a long time till I get to Scotty’s standard and change backgrounds and themes, let alone add pages etc etc.

Still had a good pub meet last night complete with 3 R56’s. Missed a bit of it as I walked all the way to the nearest feild to walk the dogs. ChrisandJax turned up as a surprise so that was great :)

Great grand prix today - Lewis Hamilton had his 3rd podium finish and another 2nd - officially the best start by a new F1 driver ever! How cool is that.

Will write some more later

Still trying to get used to how to work this site.

Question is is anybody actually reading any of it ;)

Thought I would use this entry today to add in a few pictures I have taken recently. Really must concentrate on getting to know and use the camera better. I’m not too bad at taking pictures of MINI’s but thats quite limiting.

Why not leave me a comment on what you think

Thought I had better pop in and say hello, set this blog up before the Freanch weekender and this is really the 1st chance I have had to use it since getting back.

Had a real blast in France and even saw the campest statue ever in the Palace of Versailles.

Camp Statue

Saw loads of lovely Chateau’s which I mat post pics of later. The evenings were a balst with the customary amounts of wine being consumed - well we were in France of course.

On the way back to Calais I managed to pull over and get this snap

well thats all for now folks
